My Not So Boring Trip This Summer

June 19, 2026 By Light Deene Leave a Comment

I thought our recent trip to Pampanga would be long and boring because my friends won’t be there. I didn’t realize how wrong I was to think that.

Our hotel was the Hilton hotel in Clark, Pampanga. We stayed there with my dad’s friend and his two toddlers. We stayed there for three days. When we arrived at the hotel early after a scrumptious lunch at Sage by Ardesia, I found out that our hotel had free activities. The hotel was a family and kid friendly hotel after all. My mom and I did the Sip and Paint activity. We painted a picture of a sunset. My brother, on the other hand, did the Junior Chef one where he made quesadillas. We still had a lot of extra time left so my mom and my brother swam in the hotel’s pool. I decided not to swim anymore since we will be going to Aqua Planet the next day, and I didn’t want my swimsuit to be all wet tomorrow. It had just been day one, but I was already having so much fun.

The next day we were finally going to Aqua Planet! This was the day I was most excited about. There were 4 person and 2 person rides, but since my parents didn’t want to ride the 4 person rides, my brother and I mostly did just the 2 person rides. We waited in line only for a short time because there weren’t a lot of people that day. The first ride we rode was a rainbow colored slide where we slid down a really long slide. My brother and I made it more thrilling by thinking we were in a race and whoever goes down first wins.

I felt boredom creeping up by the time we were done with our fifth ride. I didn’t like much of the 2 person rides because we had to carry the heavy floats up six flights of stairs, and it can get exhausting. It was time to convince our parents to join us so we can do the 4 person rides. Once we convinced them, we were able to ride the Tornado and the Toilet Flush rides. I liked the Tornado ride because it makes you go spinning around like you were in a real tornado. The Toilet Flush was exhilarating, too! We were spun around and around until we were flushed down a hole. Getting scolded by our parents for “forcing” them to ride with us was definitely worth it.

When the park closed, we had dinner at a cat cafe. Apparently the toddlers also liked cats. The cats we played with were so cute and fluffy, and fat. It made me want to adopt one. The food was also delicious. This time it was Japanese. To end the night, we had frozen yogurt for dessert.

On our last day we had nothing much planned. I almost got bored. There was a kiddie play area in the hotel, so we just played with the toddlers while my mom went to the gym beside it.

It was finally time to check out of the hotel. Our short trip was coming to an end. I was surprised to find myself not wanting it to be over. That’s when I realized that this trip with my family can be just as fun as doing it with friends. Boredom will never be a problem when you make an effort to have fun.
