So, I’m on my 22nd week of pregnancy. Halfway through our second trimester. The developments have been surreal. We now know the baby’s gender. She’s a girl! She’s also been moving and making soft baby kicks. My belly officially looks like there really is a baby inside. It used to look like I was just bloated or had a really big meal. I can’t hide it, and I don’t want to anymore. I wanna wear my pregnant belly proud haha!
I’ve also been passing gas a lot. A LOT MORE than in my first trimester. And they’re making sounds!!! It used to be that I’ll just fart silently and pretend that the sudden bad smell came from somebody else. Now when I fart, everybody knows it was me. 🙁 And when I do number 2 in the toilet, it’s just painful!
Constipation is a natural symptom during your second trimester. But I’ve also been taking iron supplements so it’s making my stool that much harder, and I guess, that much bigger. My poor behind! 🙁
Peeing times have also increased. It’s really tiring, especially now that I have this big belly. It’s hard to get out of the bed in the middle of the night just to pee, then climb back up the bed again. Actually, I’ve been getting easily tired lately. A short flight of stairs shortens my breath. Walking has also become a little difficult. The weight of my belly is making my every step heavy. Oh, and my back! I think every pregnant woman knows how bad it can get with your back.
Obviously, sitting and bending have also become difficult to do. I just wonder if at this stage, it’s still okay to bend. I can still do it so if I really need to pick something up on the floor or pet our cute English bulldog, I bend. My husband hates it when I keep bending, though. He thinks I’m squashing the baby.
They say that things will get easier once you’re in your second trimester. I think that I’m having a harder time now. Well, that’s because I never had a problem during my first trimester, except for that short bleeding period. Now, moving around has become such an effort. I still exercise, though, just to keep my body strong.
