So my husband and I had an idea to start a series of restaurant reviews. We will review restaurants we’ve tried with Light to see how kid-friendly they are. We never thought about it that much before but having a baby changes the whole dining scene for us. It used to excite us (still does actually) going to hole in the wall places and trying newly opened joints. But, it’s not that easy to just get up and go like we used to anymore.
Now that we have Light, the important thing for us when trying new restaurants is… wait for it… HIGH CHAIRS! Yes, high chairs just became the most important piece of furniture in a restaurant for us. No high chairs? GOODBYE! Haha
Seriously, though, having a kid puts a lot of “should have” when choosing a restaurant, and these “should have” will be our points in reviewing them.
Should Have
- Point 1: High chair
- Point 2: Good food (for adults and kids)
- Point 3: Changing area
- Point 4: Parking
- Point 5: Space to roam
For our first Kid-Friendly Restaurant Review, we tried this little place in Quezon City called 49B Heirloom Kitchen. It was for Light’s 11th month dinner. The food was a mix of traditional and classic Filipino, Asian and European dishes.
What We Ordered
Squash Flower Fritter – P210
Fillet Mignon With Truffle Gravy – P475
Dill Mashed Potato-Crusted Baked Salmon – P375
Our Verdict
- High chair
Love their high chair. Not the cheapo ones some Chinese restaurants have, and not the typical Rubbermaid types either. It’s like what you might have in your home. 🙂
- Good food (for adults and kids)
No kids menu, but we had Light take a bite of our food. They’re not too salty for the little one. We all enjoyed our dishes. 🙂
- Changing area
No changing area but if you are seating at a table with sofas, then you can change your baby there.
- Parking
No parking space. You can park in front of the restaurant if you’re the first one there.
- Space to roam
Little to no “floor” area where kids can walk around.
