Stretch Marks

October 21, 2014 By Mommy 5 Comments

Having stretch marks is one of the first things I worried about when I got pregnant. I also get asked a lot if I can already see stretch marks on my baby belly, especially now that it’s SOOO HUGE.  I’m hoping that I’m one of the lucky few who will have light to almost zero baby stretch marks. My OB and the OB who did Light’s 3D ultrasound (at my 30th week) were amazed that I still haven’t shown “real” stretch marks, you know, the kind that makes you really hate being pregnant.

I asked around and most pregnant women I know saw baby stretch marks on their 7th month. I’ m now almost into my 8th month and although I might have seen a very light one on the left side of my belly, it’s not something to worry about. Maybe the lotion that I’m using helped. I use Mustela Stretch Mark Double Action (product review here :P) from the very beginning of my pregnancy.

I read that baby stretch marks depends on your skin type and your genes though. Putting on lotions won’t really do any good. My mom had baby stretch marks. They were a bit bad. There’s like a ridge of skin around her belly now. I’m hoping that I didn’t get that same skin genes from her though. 🙂

OMG Lucky you! Yup hopefully you don’t get any. But as they say, if you do get stretch marks, wear it proud like a badge! Haha!
