I’ve always been drawn to start up products that are not too “commercialized” and are born out of passion from the owners. That’s why I was just too happy to get these pocket diapers from Tiny Bum. The couple who created Tiny Bum are also breastfeeding and cloth diaper using parents just like us. I was also in need of more cloth diapers since I’m already using them on Light during night time (before I only use them during day time) and even when I know Light is about to do no. 2. So, I’ve ran out of clean cloth diapers to use a few times.

Can I just say, I love Tiny Bum’s designs! Although I tend to choose the plain colored ones (because sometimes I partner them with dresses and I think plain colored cloth diapers are better to partner with), some of Tiny Bum’s designs are just must haves.

These pocket diapers are a bit narrower than the other cloth diapers. It also has a high cut design (I’m not sure if that’s what it’s called). At first I thought I might have a leak problem because of it. So far though, no leaks. There was just one incident when Light’s poop was runny (not the normal poop) that it “ran” out of her diaper and she made a mess on her rocker. It happens sometimes, even with disposable diapers. Anyway, I like the overall fit on Light. I actually think Light feels fresher with the high cut design.

I also like that there’s just one row of snap on lock unlike the others.

Light’s becoming fuzzy whenever I change her diaper (except when she’s sleepy, then she just falls asleep while I’m changing her haha). Sometimes she wants to move around and reach stuff. Not having to recheck again if the fit is okay (snap on and off and on, which takes time) helps. I just snap it all the way quickly.

The size of Tiny Bum’s cloth diapers are also a little big in the waist, which is a good thing for me. It means I can still use them on Light until she’s potty trained (around 2-3 years old perhaps?).

Feature Points – SHELL

Snugness or overall fit on baby – 4

The fit is nice and I like the high cut design.

Inner lining wearability – 4

The inner lining is just like other widely used cloth diapers such as Alva. As I’ve mentioned before, I really don’t find it comfy to wear (although they are responsible for the stay dry feature). Recently, though, I started using it. This means I put the inserts inside the pockets. So far, Light’s bum stayed smooth. No rashes.

Easiness of removing stain – 5

I’ve tested Tiny Bum’s pocket diapers with Light’s pee and poop. No stains left for both wastes hihi. 🙂 I was able to remove the stain very quickly from both the shell and the microfiber insert.

Quick drying time – 5

Five points for this feature too. When I put the inserts in the spinner, they will be dry and ready to use again the next day. The shells, though, I just wring them myself and they usually dry up in 1 and half days.

Multiple use before washing – 5

The cut of Tiny Bum’s shells are perfect when I use a waterproof-microfiber insert (one side waterproof lining, one side microfiber). When it’s time to change Light’s diaper and she just peed on it, I just change the insert and put a new one. Sometimes I use the pockets the second time around. Sometimes, I put a waterproof-microfiber insert (top with a cotton insert) again, then I’ll be able to use the shell three times.

For Tiny Bum’s inserts, which are microfiber inserts, I believe they are just the same with the other microfiber inserts. You may check this post for my reviews on inserts.
