Last Sunday, September 14, I went baby stuff shopping with my mom and dad. It was actually nice to have them there because I got to ask what types and sizes of baby things I should get. Plus, my mom offered to pay for the things so… YEY! 😀 I swear I didn’t ask her to come with me because of that. I did let her pay, though, because I know my mom wanted to do it for her future granddaughter. She kept asking me what else I need and when was I planning to go shopping. I know both my parents are as excited as me to welcome Light into our family. NEWBIE grandparents = FREE STUFF YES!

We went shopping at SM Mall of Asia. If I was going to buy in bulk and wanted something affordable, I would usually go to department stores. I believe that SM department stores offer a variety of affordable items so that’s where we went.
The first thing I did, though, was ask for the MOM CARD. My mommy friends suggested I get one before I do my shopping. It’s not a discount card, although you get discount coupons when you apply (you have to pay Php 100 for the card). It saves points every time you purchase in their baby/kids sections (Php 50 = 1 point). Then you can use the points to purchase items. I will definitely have use for it. For sure I’ll be buying more baby/kids stuff when Light is here.
It had been a while since I shopped at SM department stores so I was really surprised and amazed when we got to the baby section. The sales personnels there were very attentive and helpful. They were also really aggressive in pushing their products. Usually it would bother me but in this case, I welcomed it. I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted to get so I found the ladies there very helpful in showing me the different brands and types of baby things. 🙂 I had a list but it wasn’t very specific. They even suggested items that I might need (and didn’t think of). I even had a personal assistant shopper pushing the cart around. I also got to use the Mom Card and discount coupons that day.
It felt weird having someone follow you around. I’m not used to it. I even hesitate or avoid asking help from sales personnels because I don’t like the feeling of having someone wait on you while you decide on an item. I have to admit, though, that it was such a time saver. I didn’t have to look for the item. My assistant shopper knew where the items I needed were. Overall, it was a nice Sunday baby shopping experience with my parents. I was pretty satisfied with my purchases. 🙂
