There’s a place that most of us moms, or most Filipinos, go to when we need something at home or for our kids. And that is the SM Department Store. Last time I was pregnant, I needed more baby stuff and it was at SM I went and bought all that I needed. It was a really fun experience and I felt that I had a good bargain especially when I availed of the MOM Card. You can read all about that experience here. 🙂
This time, though, I tried something a little different. Since I will be shopping with a now toddler Light, I wanted to go somewhere not too crowded and offers mostly baby products so I don’t get distracted with other things haha. Of course I still wanted to be able to use my MOM Card and I still wanted a good bargain. So I decided to check out the Baby Company store at Rockwell.
Baby Company has an ongoing All Things Baby Sale for the whole month of July and it is such a good timing because I planned to start prepping for the coming of our second baby this month also. We went there on a weekday so lesser people. I would’ve gotten better deals if it were my first pregnancy and didn’t get that much hand me downs from my relatives. But since this is my second pregnancy, I pretty much have everything I need for another baby. I only had a few items on my list.
I would encourage first time mommies to visit the Baby Company stores this month, though. Especially if they plan to buy bigger ticket items such as strollers and cribs. The store has up to 50% off on MACLAREN strollers!
Another thing I love about shopping baby stuff at SM/Baby Company, the ladies (and men) are really nice and helpful!
My top 3 purchases were a feeding booster seat (had a hand me down but the straps had broken already so I thought of getting a new one), customary first clothing bought for the baby (got one for Light before too), and a set of baby pillows (I was told to get rid of Light’s baby pillows since it’s going to be full of bacteria already). I was so tempted to buy more because of the sale but stopped myself because I KNOW we didn’t need them anymore. 🙁
Whenever I have the opportunity to spend the day differently with my daughter (meaning not our everyday routine at home, but like a date) I’m always excited. I can imagine us doing more dates next time and having lots of mother-daughter bonding moments. I think shopping is one of the things that both of us truly enjoy. 🙂
