This is my first attempt at a DIY project. I don’t know if I should even be calling this a “project” since it’s so easy and simple to do. But I wanted to try this mommy arts and crafts, DIY projects thing while I’m still a stay at home, hands on type of mom (still not sure if I’m gonna go back to work). 😀
I needed some clean letter envelopes because I wanted to join this promo where I have to send in entries (also my first time to join in on these types of contests/promotions). I’m not going to tell you what contest it is because I don’t want to lessen my chances of winning by having more mommies join in haha! But it is a diaper promo and the winners will get an Php 8,000 worth of birthday party certificate from McDonald’s. Ok, fine. It’s the EQ Birthday Party Raffle Promo.
So I needed some letter envelopes to put my entries in, but I didn’t have any at home so I thought, why not make some myself. I’d be able to have my first DIY “Project” and at the same time, my letter envelopes. And since I wanted to be economical, I used scratch papers to do my envelopes. Here goes.
How To Make A Letter Envelope (When You Need One But Don’t Have One) From Scratch Papers
What You Need:
- Scratch papers
- Scissors
- Glue
Step 1: Fold your paper in half. Here I used an 8″x11″ paper.
Step 2: Cut it in the shape of a heart (one side of the heart).
Step 3: Open. Flip it. Fold the sides like so.
Step 4: Put glue on these sides.
Step 5: Fold and fold.
Viola! Your very own letter envelope from scratch paper.
Tip: You can also fold the paper lengthwise when making this.
This was really useful for my girlfriends birthday.
