So, here we are. Playing the waiting game. We’ve been on alert since last week, when my sister-in-law suddenly gave birth at 37 weeks. We are entering our 38th week now. I’ve been placing an underpad on our bed just in case my water breaks while I’m having baby dreams. We’ve prepared for everything we needed for the arrival of Baby Light. We are ready as we can be. Apparently, though, Light is still not.
I’ve also been getting a lot of “Aren’t you due already?” and “When are you giving birth?”questions. My husband and I kept saying anytime now. I think everyone I know who has the same (more or less) due date as mine already gave birth. I’m the only one left!
Because everybody is joining us in this waiting game, I’ve also been hearing a lot of suggestions on how to “speed up” labor — from sex (which I also read from What To Expect could start the contractions) to jumping over a rope (what???). Yes, everyone has an opinion on how to make Light come out. We just opted to do the walking around. Besides, that’s what our doctor ordered. 🙂
Honestly, I’m just SOOOOOOOO done with pregnancy. The longer I’m pregnant, the bigger I get and the harder it is for me to move around. It has been an overwhelming experience, but it’s not something I’d like to be in more than the allotted time necessary. And I’m ready for MOTHERHOOD! If my friends are excited to see what kind of mother I’ll be, then SO AM I. 😀
Oh Light, why don’t you come out already?!??! Mommy and Daddy are excited to see you!
